Realistic Majors

Realistic majors prepare individuals for Realistic occupations.

  • Description: includes skilled trades, technical occupations, and some service occupations
  • Skills: manual & mechanical skills using machines, tools, and objects
  • Activities: physical or hands-on activity; use of machines, tools, and materials and outdoor work

The three-letter Holland code briefly summarizes what a major is like by showing its degrees of resemblance to three occupation groups. The first letter is the highest level of resemblance.

Note: since there are no majors at UW with strong ties to Realistic, this list shows majors that have Realistic as the second letter in their code.
