Handshake Job Platform
UW alumni who had a student Handshake account may continue using it! Your Handshake account remains active after you graduate. You may continue to log in using your NetID credentials. If you are an alum and would like to update the email address associated with your Handshake account, you can do so by adding an additional email address to your account and marking that as your primary email address. Detailed Handshake instructions. Email handshake@uw.edu if you have questions.
UW alumni who’ve never had a Handshake account may request an alumni account by completing and submitting the Alumni Free Handshake Access webform.
UW Tacoma Alumni should contact UW Tacoma Career Development & Education for access to the UW Tacoma Handshake platform.
Individuals who are not UW alumni can access the open version of Handshake.
Webinars & Events
We offer webinars, workshops, panels, career fairs, and other events throughout the year. Most of these are open to alumni. You can view our upcoming events to the right or you can access our calendar here.
If you haven’t already activated your Handshake account, we encourage you to do so, as registration for most events occurs within Handshake.
Career Coaching Appointments
UW Seattle alumni who have received a degree in the past three years (36 months) are considered ‘recent graduates’ and are eligible to schedule appointments with career coaches in the Career & Internship Center for no fee. You need an active Handshake account to book an appointment.
UW Bothell alumni seeking one-on-one career counseling service should seek assistance with UW Bothell Career Services.
UW Tacoma alumni seeking one-on-one career counseling service should seek assistance with UW Tacoma Career Development.
Individuals who graduated from UW more than 3 years ago or who are not UW graduates are not eligible for 1:1 assistance in our center but are encouraged to check out the Other Job Search Resources section below. Additionally, we do not provide 1:1 career coaching for UW staff members.

WorkSource is a statewide partnership of state, local and nonprofit agencies that provides an array of employment and training services to job seekers and employers in Washington. Job seekers can schedule appointments, attend events, and access a multitude of free online resources.
Washington Connection lists additional resources that may be helpful to job seekers.
Seattle Jobs Initiative helps people gain the necessary skills and support to access careers that offer a living wage, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.
The Seattle Public Library facilitates employment workshops and provides links to many helpful job and career resources.
Seattle Recruiters & Employment Agencies is a periodically updated list of providers organized by field.
If you graduated from a college or university, consider asking your alma mater’s career center and alumni association if they provide assistance to graduates.
