Be Open to New and Unplanned Opportunities!

When I first came to the UW I had a completely different trajectory in mind, college was a time for growth and allowed for me to try things I didn’t even know were possible before. I have learned so much about myself and my authentic interests by capitalizing on opportunities I learned about through TAs, professors, websites, and just word of mouth from friends. Getting involved in the college and embracing new opportunities (like study abroad and research) really helped me learn and discover my passions. Be open to new possibilities and slow down and enjoy this phase of life that you’re in!
