Create Value for Yourself

My best advice to UW undergrads is to create value for themselves by joining clubs, networking with alumni or employees, or learning new skills that might help them with a job. Creating value helps students catch employers’ eyes and get them interviews. Ultimately, experience comes in many different forms, but as long as students can identify it and use it to their advantage, they’ll be leading the pack when it comes to securing a job.
