Description
Position Title: Student Program Coordinator Fitness (Activities & Recreation Center)
Status: Student, Part-time (not to exceed 19 hours a week)
Reports to: Program Manager of Fitness
Timeline: Fall 2024-Spring 2025
Hourly Rate: $20.97/hour
Student Program Coordinators are responsible for supporting the Fitness Team including the Group Fitness and Personal Training staff. Student Program Coordinators should be familiar with the Group Fitness Instructor (GFI) and Personal Trainer (PT) roles to assist the Program Manager (PM) with marketing materials, collaborating, training, and hiring. Student Program Coordinators are also responsible for supporting Group Fitness and Personal Training programming and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in onboarding and training of Group Fitness Instructors and/or Personal Trainers
- Communicate and collaborate with Group Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers for workshops, team meetings, events, etc.
- Assist in the interviewing process for new management and professional staff
- Assist in inventory of fitness equipment and update using excel
- Assist and lead the Group Fitness Instructor Quarterly workshop with PM of Fitness
- Keep the fitness bulletin board up to date; including posting new fitness events on the board
- Create and manage fitness employee incentives (activities, collaborations) that promote community building and increasing knowledge of fitness center and group fitness
- Have knowledge of fitness equipment and assist with inspection and upkeep
- Have knowledge of the ARC programs and services to assist patrons
- Create regular content for ARC Fitness social media accounts including reels and posts related to health and fitness education.
- Create marketing materials (posters, social media posts) for fitness events including themed classes, collaborations and ARC events.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Current student at Cascadia College or University of Washington Bothell
- Must maintain good academic standing
- Must maintain current CPR/AED & First Aid certification
- Willing to work early mornings, late nights, and/or weekend shifts
- Attend scheduled staff meetings and complete all required trainings
- Group Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer at the ARC
All new student employees must also complete UW’s online Title IX course about preventing and responding to sex-and gender-based violence and harassment.
