- Participate in training to learn the rules and regulations of the Summer Food Service Program prior to meal sites’ first day of operation
- Deliver program materials such as banners and sandwich boards to sites before meal service begins.
- Start work daily at the Seattle School District Central Kitchen (in SODO) to pick up meals to be delivered each day to various sites on a pre-assigned route.
- Count out the correct number of meals and snacks to be and delivered to each site. Keep accurate records of meal numbers.
- Daily delivery of breakfast and lunches to be completed by sites’ scheduled lunch service time
- Weekly delivery of snacks and shelf stable meals
- Answer work-provided telephone and promptly respond to site and City staff
- Make special or urgent delivers is not on pre-assigned routes
- May occasionally assist monitors with picking up site paperwork and delivering it to OST Coordinator as City offices.
- Pick up daily route paperwork from SFSP office at Seattle Municipal tower and deliver to Central Kitchen. May assist in preparing route sheets and site receipts.
- Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires one year of delivery, warehousing, or general office experience (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Required to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods of time
- Required to life packages and objects weighing approximately 50 pounds or less
- Required to work in all types of weather
- Comfortable driving cars for long periods of time (Note: you will be provided a City car for daily work)
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Current State of Washington driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
- Relatively clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
