Emily’s Advice – Don’t Be Afraid to Reach Out

My advice to UW students is to just reach out. I think that this is so important especially within the academic research community. Think about what you’re passionate about, and share that with PI’s or graduate students who are doing research that you’re interested in. Don’t just send a copy & paste message but rather share something about how you can relate to their research. I know it can be scary but remember it just takes on person to give you a chance to start your journey into research!
