The 4th Annual West Coast Vascular and Interventional Symposium (WCVIS 2024) would like to invite pre-med students at UW to participate in their event, hosted on February 10-11, 2024.
Vascular & interventional radiology (VIR) is the newest and fastest growing surgical subspecialty in medicine. VIR physicians perform image-guided surgery through pinhole incisions to treat a wide range of diseases, including delivering chemotherapy directly inside arteries feeding liver cancers, pulling out clot in ischemic stroke, and blocking vessels causing internal bleeding.
Our two-day virtual symposium will be covering a wide breadth of topics about VIR for trainees, including vascular, oncologic, hepatobiliary, musculoskeletal, critical care, neurologic, genitourinary, and pediatric interventions.
We will also be hosting panels with residency program directors, international VIR physicians, and private practice interventionalists along with a trainee case competition and virtual meet & greet. This meet & greet will include a dedicated space for premedical students to chat with medical students and residents in an informal setting.
There will also be a separate chat group for premedical students during the symposium itself, so that you will be able to discuss the topics amongst yourselves and ask questions to the medical student and resident moderators. Interested students are invited to stay for as much of the event as their schedule allows.
