The John S. McCain Strategic Defense Fellowship Program presents an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates with advanced degrees to launch their careers in public service, specifically within the Department of Defense. In this program, Fellows have the unique opportunity to gain exposure to departmental leadership, receive valuable professional development, benefit from mentorship, and upon successful completion of the program, are eligible for conversion into permanent positions within the Department of Defense. To be eligible, applicants must be recent advanced degree graduates at the time of application and must apply within two years of advanced degree completion. Applicants expecting to graduate within 6 months are also eligible to apply.
We are excited to invite your students with a background in Operation Research to apply for the McCain Fellowship Program, which has consistently demonstrated outstanding success since its inception in 2019. Approximately 90% of our fellows have secured a position within the Department of Defense, making this program a proven pathway for a public service career.
