Identifying Scam and Fraudulent Job Opportunities

Familiarizing yourself with security-related tips and resources will help you evaluate job and internship opportunities and avoid any potentially fraudulent opportunities.

Occasionally, we become aware of a new phishing scam targeting UW students. The scam email may appear to come from a UW email address which has been spoofed, references the name of a UW faculty or staff member, or claims to affiliated with Handshake. We encourage our students and alumni to use a critical eye when evaluating opportunities, as scammers have become very savvy with their techniques.
