Upcoming Admissions Workshop Tomorrow! – Medical Scientist Training Program

From the UW Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) program:

Through the MSTP, students earn both an MD and a PhD, enabling them to practice medicine while performing research. Our program is ideal for those interested in both caring for patients and engaging in research to improve health outcomes. Our students pursue a variety of exciting research topics, including stem cell biology, machine learning, cancer biology, and global health. Graduates from the UW MSTP have gone on to impactful careers in biomedical research, including leading their own research labs and founding biotech startups. As physicians with rigorous training in research, MD-PhD graduates are at the forefront of healthcare discovery and innovation.  Students in our program receive a stipend and tuition support for the duration of their training.

We are holding an informational session via Zoom on Tuesday, August 16th from 6:30-8PM titled “How to apply to MD/PhD programs”, where we will introduce the MD/PhD path and admissions process. The session will be led by several current UW MSTP students and the MSTP Director, Dr. Marshall Horwitz. After the presentation, we will have a panel for questions from the audience. We invite any interested students to join us by RSVPing via https://forms.gle/HKRiBU85QTSugChx5.
