The NextGen Civic Leader Corps is a collaborative effort between the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance and the Community Engagement and Leadership Education (CELE) Center in Undergraduate Academic Affairs.
Through coursework, experiential learning, and professional network building, NextGen Civic Leader Corps allows students to recognize and deepen their commitment to community engagement and public service. The program is part of a growing network of similar programs across the country supported by the Volcker Alliance Next Generation Service corps.
The UW program launch will be on Friday, May 6 from 11 AM to 1 :30 PM. University and community leaders will address the importance this investment in developing the next generation of government, non-profit, and social venture sector leaders. Students involved in the development of the program will also share their stories and how their commitment to public service has been supported by NextGen Civic Leader Corps activities this academic year.
