Apply Today: Queer Mentorship and Peer Program (QMPP)

The UW Q Center is incredibly excited to announce the re-imagining and return of the Queer Mentorship Program, now the Queer Mentorship and Peer Program (QMPP).

What is the Queer Mentorship and Peer Program?

In short, QMPP seeks to give folx tips for queer thrival (thriving + survival) by connecting them with other queer UW-affiliated individuals and/or students who can offer advice, compassion, or just someone to share space with.

Why join QMPP?

Aside from providing a safe, affirming, and exciting environment where sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression is supported and celebrated, you can expect to:

  • Get matched one-on-one with someone based on your shared identities and interests.
  • Meet with your mentor/mentee/peer twice a month and explore the joys, challenges, concerns, and questions about coming out, exploring their queer identity, and much more.
  • Attend campus and community events, and help to build your queer community.

Not sure if you want to be a Mentee, Mentor, or Peer? Not sure what these mean?

No worries. Before entering the program, we invite all applicants to attend one of two orientation sessions to learn more about each role and ask any questions that they may have. Following the orientation, you will be invited to select the role you would like to enter QMPP with or choose not to participate. Note, you will need to complete an application to attend an orientation session.

How do I apply?

The application is officially open and can be found at bit.ly/QMPPsignup. Although, be sure to apply soon. The application closes on October 31st at 5 PM.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please email the team at qcenter@uw.edu, subject line “QMPP.”

Hope to see you there!
