Yeny Garcia (She/Her)
Peer Coach
While completing my undergraduate degree, I had the opportunity to serve as a peer coach and enjoyed it so much. I knew when I came to UW to complete my master’s in Hispanic Studies that higher education roles and working with students were the right fit for me. Along with serving as a peer coach at the UW C&IC, I teach one of the Spanish heritage courses on campus and, of course, work towards finishing my master’s.
My previous experiences, both as an undergraduate and graduate student, have heavily prepared and improved my ability to support all students, whether it be by providing advice on a resume, preparing them for an interview, or searching for jobs. I hope we can work together to meet any of your goals.
Besides having a passion for helping students, I love cooking and baking. These are my biggest hobbies, and I always make time for both despite having a busy schedule. Since I come from Alabama, where the mountains seem tiny, Washington has made hiking so exciting.
Emma Peterson (She/Her)
Peer Coach
My passion for supporting students stems from my experience with being a student myself at UW. I’m a senior majoring in Comparative History of Ideas and Global Literary Studies with a minor in Business. I like to keep myself busy, so I wholeheartedly empathize with the struggle of balancing multiple responsibilities on top of career planning. Answering the question, “So what next?” can be stressful, but I strive to help make the process of career preparation a little less intimidating.
Over the past three years, I have worked in diverse and dynamic spaces at UW. I’ve worked the register at District Market, answered phone calls from recently admitted first-years, and advised undergraduates through their academic journeys. These experiences have cultivated my commitment to being a point of connection for others. As a peer coach, I am excited to help you discover your interests and support you in finding your path.
Life is too short and there’s an endless number of things to try, so I’m a big proponent of hobby-hunting! I love to crochet, read big books, beat beginner-level chess bots, and work on my 6-tab personal budgeting spreadsheet

Peer Coach
As a peer coach and UW undergraduate senior, I am eager to offer my unique perspective on educational and professional development. Currently, I am pursuing a degree in Law, Societies, and Justice with a minor in Human Rights. I am passionate about social justice, especially intersectionality and human rights from a legal perspective.
Prior to working at the Career & Internship Center, I have also been a First-Year Interest Group Leader and a Student Assistant for UWHR. I am excited to support my peers through their academic and professional journeys!
Outside of school and work, I enjoy doing yoga, going to cat cafes, and cheering on the Huskies at football and basketball games. Go Dawgs!
Kelley Zeng (She/Her)
Peer Coach
I am currently an Accounting and Finance student at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business with a strong foundation in leadership and professional experience. My journey includes internships with KPMG and Moss Adams, leadership roles in the Undergraduate Business Council and Asian Business Student Association, and hands-on finance, strategy, and consulting projects.
I also enjoy and am passionate about devoting time to mentoring other students as they navigate their journey at UW. I became a Peer Coach to better serve a broader group of students and help guide them through questions or concerns they may have just like I once did. Applying my experiences and strategies I’ve learned over the years, I aim to provide valuable insights and advice.
Outside of work I enjoy baking, travelling and am always looking for new restaurants to try!
