The Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s chief
scientific in-house research agency. Their job is finding solutions to agricultural
problems that affect Americans every day from field to table.
POSITION TITLE: SharePoint IT Coordinator
INTERNSHIP LOCATION: Virtual
HOURS: Flexible
DESIRED MAJORS:
Environmental science, geography, computer science or similar fields.
ASSIGNMENTS:
• Create SharePoint site for Beltsville Agricultural Research Center so the entire location of
17 research labs and 6 support management units can have one place to go for all
administrative standard operating procedures (must be able to be maintained long term
by local existing staff).
• Using SharePoint, create processes for data calls asking units for a response in an efficient manner without relying on email attachments.
• Consult setting up a network of unit level pages, consulting with units that have successful ones.
• If knowledgeable, create new database for space occupancy, existing one is outdated.
