WorkingNation Overheard: Wes Swaffar describes parts of what reforestation work entail GreenBiz 20

Wes Swaffar is the Director of Reforestation & Partnerships at the National Forest Foundation whose mission is to promote the health and public enjoyment of the national forest system through a variety of programs and initiatives.

In this clip, Wes discusses the variable working conditions and safety standards in forest service work.

Fun Fact: Wes was exposed to nature as a kid. His dad would take him out on week-long backpacking trips at the national forest in California. Shortly after graduating from college, he worked for the forest service as a wilderness ranger and would walk around in the woods for nine days at a time, seeing almost nobody.
