WorkingNation Overheard: Hava Villaverde on need for skilled workforce focused on sustainability

Hava Villaverde is the director of the MBA in Sustainability Leadership at Prescott College in Arizona, where she loves to dig deep into the nexus between our society, culture, business and ethics.

“Over the last 10 or 15 years, there has been a really strong movement toward sustainability in business,” Hava explains, “and it has gradually grown.”

At Prescott College, Hava works to develop analysis “toolkits” and processes that students can take with them after their studies are complete to serve as a resource for challenges they will face in their daily lives.

She believes that mentorship is essential in the business world, as well as in graduate education, because of the importance of instilling transparent and ethical values in the next generation of leaders to help resolve our most pressing planetary concerns.
