Alisha Bhagat is a futurist and senior strategist at Forum for the Future whose work focuses on the creative use of futures tools to impact long term positive change, particularly around social justice and equality.
In this clip, Alisha offers her take on the outlook for environmental jobs in what will no doubt be a volatile time. “People know that the time for action is now, but they’re not quite clear what to do. And I think that people going into the environmental profession have this great opportunity to kind of shape that and what that means.”
At her position, Bhagat utilizes foresight methods such as systems mapping, scenario planning, and speculative futures to engage with stakeholders in on strategic visions and the concrete actions needed to achieve them. She has engaged in futures projects in many sectors including the food system, consumer goods, global commodities, and urban planning.
Fun Fact: Alisha initially wanted to be an archeologist like Indiana Jones, but during her studies decided to go into Foreign Policy and worked as a government contractor in the securities field doing intelligence and security work.
