>> I think there are several benefits to informational interviews. One of them is you know you get to hear first hand from you know whoever it is that you've asked their daily routine and the task that they perform in their job. Secondly you can actually in some cases go to the person's place of employment and view the setting and the culture. And to me that's a huge deal, because you have to figure out if the people that you, in a specific company are the type of people who are like you and like the same things and you know have the same thoughts. And then finally, an informational interview can help you discern whether this is the job for you. I mean oftentimes you have a certain perception of what you think a job is and after talking to someone who does the job 365 days a year or at least are in that position for some time you hear the things that they go through, or things they're responsible for and it doesn't really line up with your goals. So, informational interviews are really important.
