>> My name is Michael Willett. I'm one of the two program directors at Southern Adventures, which is the outdoor rec component of campus recreation, intramurals. So we do equipment rentals, we do adventure trips, climbing wall, challenge course. We maintain a bike shop. So a lot of the, you know, stuff to get GSU students, faculty, and staff outside. We do a lot of kayaking because, you know, coastal Georgia and so close to Florida. We'll do a kayaking trip with manatees down in Florida. So you'll be kayaking, there's manatees everywhere. We'll do a bioluminescent kayaking trip, which is another really popular one because you're piloting at night, and the water around you is glowing blue. We do a ski trip, a couple of backpacking trips a semester, and some climbing trips are big ones, and then we have some local ones where we'll go canoeing or kayaking up at George L. Smith, which is just right up the road. So we do a lot of promotion, both in the rack and also on campus. So that's kind of the side of getting the word out there. And so what we're doing, we have a marketing department within CRI that, you know, we give them a marketing request. They're the designers, and they, you know, design everything up, and they'll put it out there, and we'll put it out there as well. But, you know, typical day, we, you know, it changes every day as far as what we're doing. You know, we had, yesterday we have a full-staff meeting, and we're getting ready for the student tailgate tonight, which we're, you know, going to, and we're requiring our staff to go to. So it's not just outdoor rec stuff. I mean, it's, we're the outdoor rec component of CRI, but as a part of CRI, we have to, you know, buy into all that other stuff and participate on campus. So we're doing a lot, you know, like the tailgate and things like that. So. Yeah, we actually do an adventure race in the fall called Iron Eagle Challenge, and it's a race around campus where teams of two will run, bike, and paddle, and it's a little less than five miles. It's pretty simple. Most of it's on bike. So it's pretty inclusive, and while they're running the race or biking the race, they have to complete mystery events. So it could be, you know, crawling through a mud pit or a puzzle that tests your teamwork abilities with your partner. Things like that. So it's not your typical race. There's a lot of spice thrown into it. So that's our big fall event, and then in the spring we have Southern Synfest, which is our bouldering competition. And then we have big spring break trips. We've got a scuba diving trip to the Florida Keys this spring break, and we've got the Southern Adventure, which is backpacking and white water rafting in North Carolina/Tennessee area. So those are kind of our big, big projects throughout the year.
