Description Human connections are important in career development. By talking with others – alumni, employees, faculty, friends of friends, etc. – students can learn about careers they’ve never heard of, get advice on making themselves competitive, learn of upcoming internship and job openings, and so much more. We will showcase several UW programs and resources that will help students build their network.
Target Audience Advisers & faculty on the UW-Seattle campus
Facilitator(s) Luis Santiago (Associate Director for Coaching Operations)
Title Embed LinkedIn Learning & Career Readiness Modules Into Canvas
Date Friday, February 26th

Description We want UW to be known as a school that provides not only a stellar curricular experience and robust co-curricular options, but also an integrated and intentional approach to help students prepare for their next destination. Faculty are an integral part of this vision, and faculty involvement helps ensure that all students are aware of career resources. We will showcase two new resources that professors can easily embed into their Canvas courses – LinkedIn Learning (an on-demand video learning platform) and Canvas-based Career Readiness Modules.

Description Articulating one’s skills and experience in a clear, concise, and compelling way is a critical part of any application process. Few students, however, are naturally skilled at doing so. In this session, we’ll share some big picture tips and key resources you can pass along to your students regarding resumes, cover letters, interviews, and LinkedIn profiles.
