Be Persistent

Finding my first job after graduating from UW was not easy. But I was persistent and didn’t give up. I set a realistic goal for myself to apply to at least three jobs per week. This goal was both manageable and helped me progress toward my career goals. Sometimes, the process was discouraging because there were many employers whom I didn’t hear back from even months after applying. The key is to not give up! Remain confident in yourself and the skills and experiences you have to offer. I was eventually offered a job as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Swedish Medical Center. It has been about a month since I started my new job, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to gain relevant clinical skills that will help me become an excellent healthcare provider.
