Build Connections with Faculty and Peers
Don’t be afraid to email people you’ve never met to chat about the work they’re doing or ask for guidance. Faculty members especially are very welcoming and open to helping students or referring them to people who can help them realize their passions. Don’t underestimate peer connections as well, especially with older students who can help mentor you through your time at UW and provide advice that is more specific to your situation.
