Don’t Be Afraid to Build Connections
Other people’s testament to your character is always stronger than your own. A strong application is defined by its letter of recommendations. So what can you do as a student, today, to get there? Build relationships. Don’t be afraid to connect with professors, cold email labs, or ask professionals for a coffee chat. Don’t be afraid of people. I was, for a while. I realized that people want to help people; professors want to help you. Let them.
