Do not sacrifice yourself for a job that does not value you

There are a thousands of articles on LinkedIn and Forbes titled along the lines of “how to nail that interview” or “Building a successful career starts here.” I wasted so much time comparing my success to what I thought a typical candidate should look like. But remember, when you look for a job, you are interviewing the organization as well. You deserve to work somewhere that values your time. So find a job where you believe the work is important. It doesn’t have to be saving the rainforest or ending world hunger, but if you believe the work has to be done and you believe you will be contributing to something important, nailing an interview will come so easily.
