Stay persistent! Don’t be afraid to reach out directly to people or organizations you want to work with!

Graduating in the middle of the pandemic was really hard! I applied to over 30 jobs and only heard back from a few. It’s super important to stay persistent, and not give up even when it seems like it’s not going to work out. There is so much uncertainty that comes with graduating college, especially during a pandemic, and it was super helpful for me to learn to tolerate that uncertainty and try to reframe the unknown as an exciting challenge. The best advice I was given when applying to jobs is to not be afraid to reach out to the employers or organizations you are interested in working with directly, whether that’s over email, LinkedIn or even twitter! Find people who have the jobs you want and ask for their advice, you’d be surprised how many people are willing to help you out!
