Don’t Underestimate a Public Education

When I first started at UW, I was unsure of many things: 1) what I wanted to do next, and 2) whether I had picked a school too far from D.C. However, it turned out to be exactly what I needed. UW gave me opportunities I would not have had elsewhere, studying abroad, participating in cybersecurity research, competing in Model EU and the Schuman Challenge, and even enjoying football games. Four years later, I’ve not only experienced the fun of going to a state school, but I’ve also gained academic and personal experiences that prepared me for what comes next. Ultimately, these opportunities helped me take the next step, pursuing my master’s at Georgetown University, the most prestigious institutions for international studies.
