Your Network and Professional Relationships Matter
I cannot stress enough just how important it is to cultivate and maintain positive and respectful relationships with your peers, colleagues, and professors. Not only will this enrich your own experience at the University of Washington, but it will also be much easier to seek support and potentially ask for references when the time comes to apply for positions you’re interested in after graduating. This extends to your involvement in RSOs, on-campus jobs, off-campus jobs, internships, teaching/research assistantships, and volunteering. Above all, always be your most authentic self and show that you care about the work you’re doing alongside others.
