Extracurricular Experience is Key

Most of what engineering employers are looking for is extracurricular project experience. Whether it be personal projects or a student design team you join, find something you think is cool to work on, WORK HARD, and repeat. The other (unfortunate) half of the equation is applications; once you have some good projects, make a serviceable resume, and spam as many applications as possible. Outside projects will get you internships, which will then get you better internships, which will then get you great options for full time work post graduation.
