Focus on Your Own Goals

As a pre-medical or even generally as a pre-health student, there is a constant barrage of advice and information that one receives from so many different sources that it would be impossible to name them all. Because of this, it is easy to feel frozen with indecision about the best path to take and pressured to be doing either what everyone else is doing or did. My advice to any student in the pre-medical or pre-health realm is thus to let pretty much all of that just wash over you. Instead, focus intensely on yourself and finding your own resources and strategies – don’t do what others think is best for you or what others are doing because it will likely not lead you to happiness or success. Focus on your own goals and view the common strategies and pathways through an appropriately critical lens.
