Never Give Up, Never Surrender!

It’s never too late to start, restart, redo, go back, change your mind, change careers, shift interests, or decide you’re done with the way things are and want to change. To other first-gen and/or non-traditional students who may be older, have a career or job, had a career, have a family, raised a family already, or facing hardship and struggles. I see you. It isn’t easy, and I won’t tell you it’s all sunshine and rainbows. Moving forward is an arduous journey, but there are many moments of joy and discovery and self-actualization that propel us forward. Keep going because the end is worth it. So many of us worry about the cost–financial and in many other ways. To give advice without acknowledging the struggles that often keep us from moving forward would be disingenuous. I remain hopeful that all things will work out in the future, because I’ve seen firsthand what an excellent education can bring. I’m changing careers because I love adventure and feel the results far outweigh the cost, monetarily and otherwise. Keep going. I’m cheering for you.
