The Purple Group is a peer support network for and ran by undocumented students. The group was first created by Dr. Roberto Gonzales in an effort to provide an outlet for undocumented students to share their stories and have a safe space on campus. Since the opening of the Leadership Without Borders Center in 2014, the Purple Group has expanded its outreach and now we have over twenty active members. At our monthly meetings, we work towards creating a secure community where members are comfortable sharing their stories and identify with others. Additionally, the Purple group hosts a series of workshops that tackle various issues relevant to the undocumented and immigrant community state-wide and nationally.
