This position is first and foremost a customer service position, while a technology background is a nice to have, it’s not required. We strongly encourage those with food service, hospitality, and retail experience to apply. We can teach you the basic technology skills needed.
The position is part of a team of 10+ part time student employees who staff a support office within the Foster School of Business. The office handles the help desk for classroom, conference room, team room, digital signage, computer lab, equipment checkout, and event support with an emphasis on audio/video technology. Additionally, this office schedules, monitors and edits classroom recordings. This support is provided in person, over the phone and through an email based ticketing system.
The ideal candidate is good with people, has excellent spoken and written communication skills, can work as an equal within a team, is punctual, is good at record keeping, can take direction, and operate independently.
Additional Considerations:
During the school year our office is open from early morning to late night most days of the week, with hours on the weekend as well with schedules that will often span many of those segments. Our summer hours are restricted to more standard business hours. The vast majority of what we do is supporting Foster School of Business classes, events, and activities so familiarity with the School of Business is a plus.
This position is for UW undergraduate students only and is part time. Business casual dress is required at times.
Candidates must be available to begin training during Winter quarter. Preference towards students who will be available to start immediately.
