The interdisciplinary degree program, Master of Science in Technology Innovation (MSTI) is looking for an excellent Reader/Grader with an interest in innovation. We are seeking a Reader/Grader to support our upcoming autumn quarter course, TECHIN 511: Fabrication & Physical Prototyping.
This is a four-credit course in which students gain fundamental fabrication and rapid prototyping skills for interactive systems, with a focus on industrial and product design, employing tools and processes with physical hardware, products, form factors, enclosures, and packages.

Thursdays 9:30am-12:20pm
2 sections – we are looking for 2 reader graders (1 RG/section)
This course meets on Microsoft Redmond’s campus in Building 92 (where GIX is located).
This course requires a maximum of 15 hours/week.
Your specific responsibilities will be outlined by the course instructor(s) prior to the start of the quarter. Responsibilities may include some or all of the following duties: prepare and grade assignments, maintain grading records, prepare and maintain course records, calculate quarter grades, request student assessments for course, attend lectures, manage and respond to course-related e-mail, prepare and maintain Canvas site for course materials, develop and maintain online communications, discussion sites, etc., attend weekly instructor meetings, act as liaison between student and instructor, and facilitate discussions.
Requirements:
- Have familiarity with physical prototyping, design review and critique, and digital fabrication processes.
- Be current graduate student with previous teaching experience.
- Demonstrate experience in multi-disciplinary design projects in academia and/or industry.
- Be familiar with one or more of the standard design process tools and methods (ex. qualitative/quantitative research, sketching, prototyping, usability tests, prioritizing requirements)
Preferred qualifications:
- Have previous grading experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Represent one of the following areas of study: HCDE, Interaction Design, Human Factors,
- Experience in working with international students.
The pay is $25 per hour.
Student hourly employees accrue one hour of sick time off for every 40 hours worked. Accrual begins at the start of employment and is available for use the following month.
This position is designated as an at-will appointment. The employment relationship may be terminated by the University or the employee at any time, with or without cause or notice, in accordance with University policy.
