Under the direct supervision of a professional staff member, Residence Education Programmers (REPs) are live-in positions within the University of Washington (UW) residential communities. REPs work collaboratively through unique roles to support community development and resident engagement. They model and support inclusive and welcoming communities, are knowledgeable about and abide by the policies of Housing & Food Services (HFS) and the UW, demonstrate sound judgment, participate in, and facilitate a team approach with coworkers, complete necessary administrative tasks, and provide quality customer service to residents and visitors.
TIME COMMITMENT:
REPs are expected to contribute an average of 19.5 hours per week towards their role’s responsibilities, including finals week. Depending on the time of year, some weeks may require more than this amount while others require less.
- Team meetings are held weekly and determined based on academic schedules of members.
- They are expected to maintain availability to attend meetings 7-9 PM on Mondays as instructed.

- Ends: Saturday, June 14, 2025
TYPICAL WORK (REPs):
The Residence Education Programmer team will collaboratively plan numerous programs each quarter, including both active and passive programs, social media campaigns, and other educational initiatives. The programs will fall into three program areas: academic success, wellness, and social justice/diversity.
QUALIFICATIONS: 
- Be a currently enrolled UW student
- Attend one of the 7 live information sessions or watch the recorded one
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.45 AND a quarterly GPA of 2.0 throughout the selection process beginning in Autumn 2023
- Be in good conduct standing with the University & HFS
- Plan to be enrolled as a full-time student at UW next year
- Take and successfully complete the Spring 2024 Student Leader Class
- Be available for the full duration of the 2024-2025 Position Length, including required Autumn Training
- Skills including, but not limited to active listening, empathy, conflict-management, time-management and prioritization, problem solving, initiative, resourcefulness.
IN-KIND COMPENSATION
Student Leaders are given In-Kind Compensation in the form of room, laundry, and a dining plan in exchange for completing the roles and responsibilities in the position agreement. This role is not considered an employed position by the University.
- ROOM: Housing in-kind compensation for all REP positions is provided at a rate up to or equal to the cost of a double room with private bath. Compensation is applied as a credit on the individual’s housing account to offset the individual’s housing cost partially or fully.
- DINING: REPs are compensated at a value equal to the cost of a Level 1 Dining Plan per academic quarter day worked and during Autumn Student Leader Training.
- LAUNDRY: The role will receive a quarterly credit to their Housing and Food Services account equal to the laundry fee charged.
