The Student Building Manager serves as a crucial support staff member responsible for overseeing various aspects of Student Center operations, with a primary focus on delivering exceptional customer service. This role entails the authority to address issues across the facility and to engage an administrator or manager during emergencies or situations requiring additional guidance. Key duties include coordinating activities with fellow student staff, Center personnel, facilities management, students, and visitors. Additionally, responsibilities encompass planning and executing event setups, diligently verifying reservation requirements, communicating with clients, and ensuring equipment is properly secured post-event. Moreover, the Student Building Manager is tasked with implementing emergency protocols as needed and effectively managing crises such as accidents or altercations. Serving as a central contact point, this position also acts as a valuable resource for clients organizing major events within the premises. It is essential to promptly report maintenance concerns to the University of Washington Facilities department or the Facility Operations and Maintenance Services (FOMS) in urgent situations. Routine patrolling and inspection of the Foster buildings and grounds are conducted to identify and report any safety or security incidents to the University of Washington Police Department and Foster Facilities team. Furthermore, assisting faculty, staff, students, and guests by providing general information, directions to events and rooms, as well as supporting the Foster School community in addressing building access challenges are integral components of the role. Ensuring the security of all doors in lounges, hallways, classrooms, and the entire building during closing procedures is paramount to maintaining a safe and functional environment. Duties Include: Office tasks- Logging keys checked in/out, updating custodial calendar for billing, logging furniture counts/placements/ assisting with inputting work order tickets through customer care as needed, inputting/updating information in events software (EMS), other duties needed. Building Tasks- Opening/ closing building before and after hours, doing security rounds hourly on shift, report maintenance issues, report to UW any unauthorized use of the buildings or any unauthorized guests, monitoring events, other duties needed. Building Daily Operations- Stock copy rooms with branded supplies, paper, ink, etc., stock lounges; coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, cleaning supplies, delivery of mail each day, front desk tasks, assist with inventory of supplies, and other duties as needed.
