Important Notice: We are now hiring for the fall 2024 Quarter and will start operations on October 30th.
We welcome students from all UW campuses to apply! This is an in-person opportunity for Seattle campus students, and a remote opportunity for Bothell/Tacoma campus students. Working for the Student Calling Program provides students with opportunities to be a part of the philanthropic traditions of the UW, build leadership, improve communication skills, enjoy camaraderie and earn money. You must be an student at the University of Washington to work for us.
The University of Washington Engagement Center, managed by RNL (we are an off-campus job), is searching for outgoing students to work throughout the school year! Engagement Ambassadors make phone calls and use digital tools to contact UW affiliates, update their contact information, build strong rapport, and conduct fundraising efforts on behalf of a variety of UW scholarships and initiatives.
Engagement Ambassadors are UW students who contact prospects using text and phone while conducting themselves as a professional representative of their school. Ambassadors are expected to accurately enter data into our computer system, complete a set number of shifts each week/month, and meet or exceed goals as outlined by the Engagement Center Manager.
To be successful as an Engagement Ambassador, you must demonstrate a strong command of English (both verbal and written), be able to follow a script when reaching out to prospects, and pass new hire and compliance trainings. We offer flexible scheduling to allow students to work around both their academic and personal schedules.
Prior to completing the application, you should listen to a mock call. The call linked is from the University of Maryland, and is an excellent example of the calls we make at Washington. Please note in the call they ask for a monetary gift four times. We only ask three. The YouTube recording can be found here.
Engagement Ambassadors can gain experience in Marketing, Networking, Fundraising and Sales Negotiations. If you’re looking for a rewarding part-time position that boosts your resume and communication skills, then this is the place for you.
You must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. and reside in the U.S.
