We are seeking a motivated undergraduate student to assist in maintaining the colony of tobacco hornworm, Manduca sexta on the weekend and public holidays.
This position is funded by an AFOSR sponsored Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI). The hourly technician will assist in maintaining the moth’s life cycle . The technician will also be responsible for the collection of eggs, feeding the larva, and pupate the larva. The other responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting workspaces, and preparing artificial diets for Manduca larvae.
The candidate is expected to work between 2- 4 hours during the weekend and public holidays. The student will be paid $20/hour. The position is open from 24th of August, 2024 for a year and could be extended longer. Training will be provided, and prior experience is not needed.
