U.S. News & World Report is looking for a passionate, creative and social-savvy intern to join our Social Media team. As an intern, you will work across all U.S. News editorial sections and get hands-on experience creating and publishing content to the brand’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube accounts. This is also an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of analytics tools to measure social performance and produce original video and graphics for social media.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Previous internship experience in a newsroom setting preferred
  • Experience with video editing and graphic design ‘

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write and schedule social posts to U.S. News Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn handles
  • Monitor engagement and performance on U.S. News social handles
  • Conceptualize and produce video and graphics for social
  • Assist social media team with promotion of enterprise content and editorial launch packages
  • Learn and develop familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Parse.ly and CrowdTangle

Minimum Requirements:

  • Eligible candidates must be one of the following:
  • Part-time or full-time students who have completed 24+ credit hours (rising sophomores/juniors/seniors) and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university
  • Part-time or full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university
  • May 2021 graduate (Summer Interns Only)
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism and maturity in the workplace
  • Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of MSOffice Suite and Google Docs
  • 3.0 GPA or above preferred

Summer Intern Program Description:

  • 10 weeks; ideally, starting on Tuesday, June 1 through Friday, August 6
  • We expect interns to work 37.5 hours/week, Monday- Friday
  • All interns are paid $15/hour
  • Internships will likely work remote
