Job Duties: Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results. Support the implementation of company programs. Create a collaborative partnership between business unit and GSC to ensure teams are aligned on business objectives. Translate customer business metrics into actionable Starbucks metrics/terms and vice versa. Develop strategic and operational plans for the work group, manage execution and measure results. Prepare, communicate and educate client groups and teams on changes in policies and practices within the organization. Plan and manage business unit and department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with business goals and objectives. Lead and champion sales forecasting strategies and efforts that increase efficiency, profitability and sustain business unit growth. Develop relationships with cross functional business unit partners and appropriate supply chain functions to ensure cohesive forecasting and business unit strategies. Develop and establish processes to measure and report results of key performance metrics, specifically between internal support departments such as GSC planning groups. Provide functional expertise and execute functional responsibilities. Communicate opportunities and risks to management on a proactive basis. Ensure the forecast is a collaborative process by developing appropriate interface and input processes with Marketing and Category teams as well as Market Planning and Customer Business Development (Sales) teams on an ongoing basis and as part of the monthly Sales and Operating Planning Process (S&OP). Lead and champion the refinement and improvement of global sales forecasting processes and systems to support business requirements. Lead to improve forecasting efficiency and effectiveness, resulting in increased forecast accuracy and customer service levels. Provide leadership for multiple teams of forecasting professionals in various functional areas or product families. Provide coaching and mentoring to partners and other teams. Provide forecasting support and expertise for key strategic business and global initiatives. Provide partners with coaching, feedback and developmental opportunities. Challenge and inspire team members to achieve business results. Conduct and ensure the completion of performance reviews. Ensure partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements. Oversee training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and make effective staffing decisions. Build and maintain a strong partnership with customer business teams and educate partners in leading the S&OP process. Experience may be gained concurrently.
Requirements: Master's degree in Business Administration/Management, or foreign degree equivalent; and 5 years of experience in any related role as well as 5 years' experience in using, implementing or improving forecasting processes and systems; 5 years progressive experience planning/forecasting in a business-to-business and/or sales driven environment; and 5 years management experience including building and leading cross-functional team.
