JOB TITLE: Outreach Intern
LOCATION: Headquarters
DATE AVAILABLE: September 1, 2024
SALARY: $12 per hour
HOURS: 5 -10 hours per week, not to exceed 40 hours per month. (September 1 – November 30).
Hours may vary.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Must have completed one year of college and currently enrolled in continued education.
- Major or Minor in Non-profit Organizational studies, multi- cultural studies, Language, or related studies.
INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:
The Spartanburg County Public Libraries are seeking an Outreach Intern to assist in all areas of the Outreach department. Intern will:
- Help prepare and deliver homebound materials.
- Assist Bookmobile on community stops and the preparing for community stops.
- Attend outreach events with bilingual Outreach staff.
- Assists with programs supported by Outreach staff.
Intern should be able to work independently without close supervision. Exert 15-20 pounds, operate in outdoor environments, have a passion to help others, and work with persons from diverse backgrounds.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Experience working with people from all backgrounds and age groups.
- Ability to coordinate schedule and manage time.
- Ability to take direction in a team environment.
