As part of Human Resources, the employee communications team provides creative support to programs and change initiatives that make the Port a great place to work. We create, maintain, and publish content to channels through which information flows across the organization. We also work closely with the HR Data team to produce data visualizations, reports, and technical solutions to communications challenges. Our work connects employees to important news, events, information, resources, and opportunities that are essential to a rich employee experience.
You will assist the HR Communications and HR Data teams across a variety of related tasks and projects. Your duties may include:
- Collecting, organizing, analyzing, and visualizing data for the comprehensive HR Annual Report.
- Publishing events, articles, and pages on the employee intranet website, SharePoint sites, and other channels.
- Designing branded communications materials, including documents, forms, flyers, infographics, and presentations.
- Designing apps and workflows with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Assisting with employee-centered journalism, photography, and videography projects.
- Providing administrative support to various HR-led programs and events.
In addition to gaining valuable experience with communications tools, techniques, and strategies, you will get a firsthand look at the operations of a highly active human resources department that supports all aspects of the employee experience, including recruiting, development, benefits, safety, culture, and employee relations.
