Due to the ongoing growth of the Analytics Department, we are looking to recruit a Renewable Energy Analyst into our existing team of Analysts and Engineers to be based from Seattle, WA, USA. We work on a diverse range of interesting and challenging projects using state-of-the-art tools and methodologies that are recognized at Credit Committee levels by Banks and Financial Institutions in North America and around the globe.
We are offering the exciting opportunity to be part of our industry-leading international analytics team. Working as part of the global technical team, you will be responsible for the project management and delivery of a wide range of technical services predominantly in the wind and solar sectors. You will be providing analysis services to projects at all stages of their life-cycle and the tasks associated with this role will provide a varied and challenging workload ranging from: layout design; SCADA data analysis; site measurement campaign design and management; resource modeling; energy yield assessment; site classification and technology selection; and technical due diligence. You will also have responsibilities for analysis and reporting of operational sites.
Our multi-disciplinary approach provides a unique opportunity to interact with other functions within Natural Power and learn from experienced resources across all departments. We are currently involved in projects across Europe, America, Africa and Asia, and have technical staff in Scotland, France, Ireland and the US. We invest heavily in new product and service development, and in your role, you will be involved in the continued development of our tools and methods. As part of this, you will have the opportunity develop tools and work closely with analysts and colleagues across our international offices, while playing an active part in growing our business in North America.
Qualifications and Experience
You will be degree qualified in an engineering, atmospheric science, or other scientific discipline with a particular focus on fluid dynamics, mathematics and computer programming. Further to academic qualifications, it is essential that you have 1-5 years of experience providing wind or solar analysis services, working for a consultancy, developer or owner of renewable energy projects or an OEM serving the utility-scale renewable sector. Experience in the following areas would be a distinct advantage: renewable energy and complementary technologies (e.g. wind, solar, biomass); assessment of complex flows with CFD; operational project experience and SCADA data analysis; and knowledge of remote sensing technologies.
The role demands that you have excellent IT skills, being competent with packages such as PVsyst, WAsP, Windographer, OpenWind, and WindFarmer and in addition to this, you will be capable of learning new software packages and technology quickly. A knack for developing code to solve technical issues (e.g. Matlab, SQL, Python or other programming skills) would be a strong advantage.
You will have excellent communication skills, being able to convey clear and concise information in both written and verbal format. In addition to this, you will have first-rate interpersonal skills being capable of building relationships with clients, staff and third parties alike. You will be a highly-motivated self-starter and committed with excellent time management skills, being capable of managing and prioritizing your own challenging and often conflicting workload. You will be analytical and meticulous by nature, with an ability to solve problems in an innovative manner.
Due to the nature of the role, a driver's license and passport are essential.
