The National Parks Conservation Association is offering an exciting year-long opportunity to lead and support creative communications campaigns with a focus on media outreach, to help protect and enhance our national parks and protected lands. The Senior Communications Coordinator will support campaigns that urge Congress and the Biden administration to protect parks as well as surrounding landscapes that benefit communities, wildlife, clean air and other natural and cultural resources. The position will also support efforts to designate new or expand current national parks to preserve and tell more of America’s stories, and advance environmental justice by working with diverse communities.
The position reports to NPCA’s Communications Director and will work directly with the communications team, along with regional leaders, political experts, wildlife and clean air advocates and other external partners and stakeholders. This position will play a hands-on role in creating outreach plans, focused on media outreach and engaging NPCA’s more than 1.6 million members and supporters. Applicants must excel at working independently with remote colleagues in fast-paced work environment. The position carries a strong emphasis on leading earned and placed media campaigns, among other strategic and creative tactics.
