Glosten is seeking student interns to work with our naval architecture, marine engineering, and production engineering teams in Seattle, WA and Providence, RI. Glosten is an employee-owned naval architecture and marine engineering firm that has served the marine industry for over 60 years. We work in teams on exciting projects, and enjoy a stimulating, fast-paced, and collegial environment.
As an intern, you will work closely with your group lead and other employees who will help you apply your knowledge and grow your skills on projects that have a significant impact. Our engineering team will help you to roll up your sleeves and apply your classroom experience to creating solutions for real maritime challenges.
The positions involve supporting engineering staff in projects underway. Opportunities may include using 2D drafting or 3D modeling software in the development of equipment foundations, hull structure; mechanical and electrical system schematics; system pipe routes; and other tasks as directed.

Successful Glosten Interns:
Have a strong academic background or experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Industrial Design, 3-D modeling, Computer Aided Drafting.
Demonstrate a mutual respect for coworkers in a culture of collaboration, integrity, and innovation.
Are motivated to identify and pursue internal and external professional growth opportunities, including areas outside their specific discipline.
Demonstrate interest in the marine industry, as we are looking for people who might want to join the firm permanently upon graduation.
Possess exceptional communication skills. Communication is highly valued at Glosten, as we collaborate in inter-disciplinary teams, and must convey complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely with our clients and other stakeholders in our projects.
Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States. Due to project restrictions, Glosten will only consider applicants with unrestricted access to work in the United States or those eligible for TN visas.
Students entering their final year of a program are preferred.
Our preference is that interns will work in one of our office locations, however due to COVID-19, there is a possibility our summer internships will be remote.
