Remote Jobs Expires August 15, 2022

Situated within a remote and stunningly beautiful archipelago, San Juan Island is a small community, the landscape is characterized by farms, forests, and spectacular shorelines with abundant marine life.

The Community Coordinator will support our small staff with outreach & communications, while growing capacity for volunteer and donor support. Tasks include creating social media posts, mailings, monthly emails, and website updates, as well as database work. This position will provide opportunities for learning about grant research and writing.

We’re seeking a storyteller with mid-level skills in graphic and web design, social media, and creating marketing materials. Additionally, familiarity/experience with database software is a plus. While we hope the position will be located in Friday Harbor, due to COVID-19 as well as the housing challenges on the island, it is possible for this position to be done remotely.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn about how community land trusts, which are rooted in the civil rights movement, can change the housing landscape forever. To learn more, check out our website at www.hometrust.org

The Division of Student Life acknowledges the Coast Salish people of this land, the land which touches the shared waters of all tribes and bands within the Suquamish, Tulalip, and Muckleshoot Nations. Student Life is committed to developing and maintaining an inclusive climate that honors the diverse array of students, faculty, and staff. We strive to provide pathways for success and to purposefully confront and dismantle existing physical, social, and psychological barriers for minoritized students and communities.
