LGBTQ+ Students

Here at the UW Career and Internship Center, we work hard to support students of all identities, including our vibrant UW LGBTQQ2IA+ community!

While there are many laws that prohibit discrimination based on gender or sexuality, you may have questions when navigating the job search, such as:

  • What avenues of support and recourse can I access if I experience discrimination?
  • Will my job provide benefits that cover my gender affirming care?
  • Will my job provide benefits that cover my family?
  • Will I be supported as a Transgender, Non Binary, or Gender Nonconforming person within this company?
  • What types of support (affinity groups, for example) will I be able to access from my employer?
  • Will I be able to speak outwardly about my partner/s and family at my workplace?
  • How will I navigate possible repercussions?

The Career & Internship Center is a place where you can navigate these questions, bring your full self, and find resources to utilize when entering the workforce.
