Join us for an exciting hands-on, experiential learning opportunity for UW students: the University of Washington Global Career Accelerator. This is a brand new, for-credit experiential learning option, available to undergraduate students on all 3 UW campuses to gain authentic work experience and develop in-demand professional skills over the course of the summer.
The Global Career Accelerator is a 10-week digital program that enables undergraduate students from all majors to gain industry skills and work on projects co-designed with partners such as OpenAI, L’Oréal, and Nike—with structure, mentorship, and academic support throughout.
We know that schedules, geography, and financial constraints can sometimes make traditional internship formats difficult to navigate. This pilot removes some of those barriers while providing an opportunity for students to develop career-readiness assets, such as digital certifications that demonstrate proficiency with industry-relevant software and tools.

- Career Rotation (web analytics, social media, UX/UI prototyping)
Course Description
- Credit: Register for 5 units (JSIS 478)
- Registration: From the UW Global Career Accelerator website you will be directed to register for the course. The registration deadline is June 22, 2026, though late registrations may be accepted through Friday June 26.
- Delivery: Fully online, with both synchronous and asynchronous components. You will select from one of five tracks and commit to attending one of the following weekly LiveLab options for the entire course:
- Mondays from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM PT
- Tuesdays from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM PT
- Eligibility: Open to undergraduate students of any major.
- Dates: June 22 to August 30, 2026. This 10-week course does not follow the standard summer session schedule. [registration accepted through the first week]
- Goal: Prepare for a global, diverse, AI-driven workforce by building and presenting a portfolio of projects that highlight applied skills, problem-solving abilities, AI savvy, and intercultural teamwork experience.
