LSJ Summer Courses

Thinking about summer? The Law, Societies, and Justice Department has a few options during A-term that could be a great fit! 

Each course if 5 credits, taught synchronously online, and fulfills the Social Sciences Areas of Inquiry. There are no enrollment restrictions! 

LSJ 321: Human Rights Law in Culture and Practice

Description: Introduces the complexities of issues surrounding human rights. Examines human rights concerns through critical analyses, taking into account legal, social, economic, and historical variables.

  • Joint with ANTH 323, but enroll in LSJ 321 (fulfills same requirements as ANTH 323)
  • Fulfills SSc and DIV 
  • A-Term (June 22 – July 22)
  • Synchronous Online MTWTh 12:00-2:10pm

LSJ 375: Crime, Politics, and Justice

Description: Examines role of police, courts, and corrections in criminal justice; investigates critical legal and sociological factors and perspectives that shape criminal procedure; considers the relationship between criminal procedure and wider concerns of justice and equality in society. 

  • Joint with SOC 372, but enroll in LSJ 375 (fulfills same requirements as SOC 372)
  • Fulfills SSc
  • A-Term (June 22 – July 22)
  • Synchronous Online MTWTh 9:40am-11:50am
