The Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) is offering 10 competitive $10,000 LSAT Study Grants to support aspiring law students committed to pursuing careers in animal law and advocacy. This program is designed to reduce financial barriers, expand access to legal education, and help build the next generation of legal advocates for animals. Funds may be used for LSAT preparatory courses, study materials, and living expenses during an intensive study period (3 months or more). In addition to funding, recipients will receive mentorship on law school applications and networking opportunities with legal professionals.
Program Period: July – December
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Degree from an accredited college or university
2. Unweighted undergraduate GPA of 3.75+
3. Clear intention to attend law school and pursue a career in animal law
4. Planning to take the LSAT within the next 6 months
5. Applying to ABA-accredited law schools within the next 12 months
6. Commitment to dedicate a significant time to studying
Required Application Materials:
1. Personal statement (2 pages max)
2. Detailed study plan (1 page max)
3. Resume or Curriculum Vitae
4. Undergraduate transcript (unofficial acceptable)
5. One letter of recommendation from an academic supervisor or professor confirming the applicant’s commitment to animal law, policy, or advocacy
